My Online Memories
We're almost there you guys, one more post to go and I can finally finish rambling on about my holiday! I'm sure you're all relieved. So Thursday we drove up to Chester so we could visit the zoo. Now, I'm a bit conflicted with zoo's because on the one hand, I feel like the animals are just so caged in and it's sad to see them pacing backwards and forwards in pure boredom (Especially the big cats) But then on the other hand I do understand that the majority of zoo's (Chester included) are all working really hard to care for endangered animals and try to bring their numbers back up so that can eventually go back into the wild.
It was interesting actually to see just how many animals are now classed as endangered, animals I had never even heard of before. Especially the birds. There were some absolutely amazing birds there and they were all so colourful, and they came so close you could lean right up to them to take their photo. I'm afraid my photo's will not be very good as I can only use the camera on my phone, so any animals that were too far away, I didn't even bother trying to photograph. Rather than run through every single animal we saw I will just leave you with all my favourite pictures and my top two animals. The bat house was incredible. I love bats, I think they are adorable, and what was great about the bat house was that it was all in complete darkness but the bats would get so close to you. You could literally feel their wings brush against you! Which was very terrifying when you walk through a tunnel full of them. But my heart went fully and forever to the two month old Rhino. He was gorgeous, and very wobbly on his feet! He came bounding over to us all and looked right up at me and I completely melted. It made me sad that there are people out there that willingly hurt these creatures and leave babies like this little guy all alone to die. I actually teared up a little bit just thinking about it. As I said, I'd be here forever trying to name every animal, bird and fish we saw so please enjoy some rather blurry photo's and let me know what your favourite animals are! Xx
